The City of Akeley Meeting
Hall Facility is a NON-SMOKING facility in its entirety.

The use of Alcoholic
beverages is prohibited.

Unlawful gambling of any
nature is prohibited.

The Renter shall only use
those rooms and/or areas indicated for rental, ex: hall, kitchen &
bathrooms only.

Disorderly conduct is
prohibited & punishable by ejection of the disorderly person from the
Facility. The Renter shall be solely responsible for the supervision &
conduct of the members or its group.

The group, individual or
organization using the Meeting Hall must provide competent adult
supervision for the entire time that participants are in the building.

While the use of decorations
is allowed, use of tacks, nails or staples for hanging any decoration is
not allowed on any wall or ceiling surface. Tape is an acceptable means
of securing decorations.

Candle use is prohibited with
the exception of Birthday Candles.

All groups, organizations &
users of the Meeting Hall shall be responsible for immediate clean-up.

Public groups or
organizations, as defined under MN STATUTES, using the facility for the
purpose of convening a Public Meeting must conform to ‘open meeting law’
requirements pursuant to MN STATUTES.

Renters shall make
arrangements for picking up the key to the hall with city personnel.

Renters shall make
arrangements for returning the key with city personnel.

The City of Akeley and the
City Council & Staff assume no liability for loss, damage, injury or
illness incurred by the users of this facility.
Two (2) separate checks must
be written to the City of Akeley; one check for the building rental per
the fee schedule, one for the required deposit, which will be held by
the City and returned uncashed upon satisfactory inspection of the
premises.
The deposit covers any
physical, structural, or other related damages to the facility itself.
It does not cover theft of equipment (i.e. tables, chairs, kitchen
inventory, memorabilia, etc.). The City of Akeley retains the right to
file a claim beyond the deposit in order to recover or replace these
items.
All rental fees and deposits
must be paid during regular business hours, or by mail, to the City of
Akeley, PO Box 67, Akeley, MN 56433. Payment must be made prior to the
event.
All paid members of the
Akeley Senior Center may use the Akeley Meeting Hall Facility at no
charge based on availability.
